Holiday Pay Entitlement Calculation
On the RP1, questions 58 to 68 cover accrued holiday pay entitlement. The questions require the pro rata accrued entitlement to be calculated. This is illustrated in the following example: -
- Your holiday year ran from 1 January and you were entitled to 24 days' holiday a year. Your employment ended on 30 September three quarters of the way through the holiday year.
- So you were entitled to 18 days' holiday when your job ended (three quarters of 24)
- You had taken 2 week's holiday (10 days) leaving 8 days' unpaid holiday entitlement (18 less 10 days). So in this example the numbers to be given as answers to the key questions are: -
Question 60 - 24 days (The full year's holiday entitlement)
Question 65 - 10 days (The number of days holiday taken)
Question 67 - 8 days (The accrued entitlement less days taken)
